Our History

TBC Services, L.L.C. (TBC), was formed in early 2007 with the goal of creating a premier human services/health care company focused on the emerging non-facility-based, fee-for-service marketplace. The principals are Tom Schramski, Ph.D. and Bob Tungland.

TBC acquired Metro Care Services, Inc. (MCS), a provider of non-medical, in-home support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families via Medicaid/State of Arizona funding with the support of the Arizona Business Bank, and later Enterprise Bank & Trust. MCS, with more than 10 years of consistent growth and an excellent reputation, has been the foundation for the company's growth.

In 2008, TBC reconfigured its corporate structure and managed successful acquisitions as follows:

  • In June 2008, TBC acquired two Palm Desert, California-based companies in its market niche. TouchPointe Home Care Agency (now the d.b.a. for Metro Home Care Network California, L.L.C.) and Best Choice (d.b.a. for Metro Choice California, L.L.C.) provide non-medical, in-home care to adults in the Coachella Valley area. In addition, TouchPointe also offers staffing services, including skilled nursing, to local facilities.

  • Also in June 2008, TBC purchased the assets of Principal Tutoring and Consulting, L.L.C., a Tucson, Arizona-based tutoring company. Concurrently, TBC formed a new company, A Road 2 Learning, L.L.C. (AR2L), into which Principal and Metro Care's tutoring service lines were folded—enabling Metro Care to focus its efforts solely on non-medical, in-home care to individuals with disabilities, as well as older adults. In its first year of operations, AR2L generated more than $1 million in revenue from federal (No Child Left Behind/SES) and State of Arizona (Department of Education) funding.

  • In August 2008, TBC became the management hub for all operations of MCS, AR2L, TouchPointe and Best Choice.

  • Apeiron Training, L.L.C., was created in September 2008 to meet community needs for training, educating and advocating for professionals across human services, health care and other industries. It became a division of AR2L on May 1, 2010.
TBC has continued to experience significant growth within each of its target markets. Equally important, the company's structure will enable it to acquire and develop new companies, with unique identities and missions, as additional opportunities arise in the human/health care services sector.
